The academic support community is vibrant, supportive, and energizing, and AASE conferences are the perfect time to experience it! The largest law school academic support-specific conference in the United States, the annual AASE conference provides academic support professionals of all statuses with a welcoming environment in which to talk shop, get inspired, and find support from individuals at other institutions. Members of the academic support community will present about their successes, failures, and learning opportunities.
We know everyone is eager to see each other again after two years of virtual gatherings, but we also realize circumstances may limit travel to an in-person conference. As such, St. Mary’s University School of Law is proud to host in-person and virtual options this year! The registration fees are as follows: (1) $25.00 for all virtual attendees, (2) $100.00 for AASE members attending in person, and (3) $200.00 for non-members attending in person. We are working to provide a top-notch conference experience, regardless of which attendance option you choose.
Our 2022 conference theme is “Making Waves, Breaking Barriers: Building Better Lawyers.” The conference will offer sessions focused on Diversity, Mental Health, Bar Prep, Academic Success, and Online Learning.
The schedule is live HERE! Given the virtual and in-person nature of this event, conference sessions will run from 11 AM – 5 PM CST. In-person attendees will be provided lunch and an afternoon snack break each day. St. Mary’s will host a dinner at the San Fernando Cathedral Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 and will have a food truck onsite Thursday at 5 pm for an end of conference celebration. Otherwise, breakfast and dinner will be on your own each day.
**Virtual conference attendees need to register by May 1, 2022 to ensure you receive your swag box before the conference kick-off!**
St. Mary’s University School of Law is proud to offer two excellent lodging options for conference attendees. Should you wish to drive to San Antonio or utilize a rental car while in town, both hotel locations offer valet parking for a fee.
Uber and Lyft have a robust presence in San Antonio for attendees hoping to schedule independent transportation.
Consistent with AASE’s goal of supporting the professional development of its members, which includes their wellness, we are excited to incorporate wellness activities into the conference program. Over the lunch hour we will offer various wellness focused activities such as campus walks, chair massages, and a coloring and music room, along with other options as well. We will also have a screen free wellness room on hand throughout the day for those that want to step away for some quiet time.
Finally, we are planning a volunteer activity pre-conference on Thursday morning for interested conference attendees. We hope you will be able to join us in serving the San Antonio community!
